About Hampi

Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagara empire, and its ruins spread across a dramatic landscape of boulders along the Tungabhadra. The Virupaksha Temple is still active, while the Vittala Temple, its stone chariot and the Royal Enclosure reveal the city’s scale.
